Ancient Indian Culture

It is rather natural for any person to be proud and protective of their culture because they are brought up admiring it. Indian culture is wide and diverse and no answer can fully justify the explanation it requires. Historic Indian culture was when a lot of feats were accomplished by Vedic culture in science, mathematics and various other fields. At that time, it was predominantly Hinduistic because there weren't any other people coming to India with the idea of invasion. Our centuries' old books had accurate calculations of the value of pi, irrational numbers and even the distance between the sun and the earth. It was also when women were protected staying in houses to get meals ready. It was and has always been sad for women in almost all cultures. India recieved diversity when people from other countries invaded for their wealth. The invaders and travellers brought and enforced their culture here. It was also when people misinterpreted caste system as something that sh...

ART FORMS

Arts existed from the dawn of time even before languages existed. Early men used arts to convey messages through which we still keep finding in caves and help us understand their lives thousands of years ago. Even after language evolved  not all things can be expressed  through language. Art was and is still used to express feelings no language can ever do. Art is of different shapes and forms. It depends on people and how they view art. Drawings always has been the centre of attraction of Art. There are a lot of famous painters in history who were very talented in conveying what they had in mind through their paintings which holds great value as of today. Sculptures also existed for a very long time. Sculptures are done for various needs and purposes.                            MUSIC - The Magical Art Form           Music is my favourite form of art. It gives life to the lyrics in a song. Music has always been my escape from the real world. Sometimes I feel the music in a song expresses more feelings than the lyrics of a song. You do not need a language to understand music. According to me music is a form of entertainment in which the people put together different pieces of sound in a way that everyone likes.            I prefer hip-hop and R&B music to classical. I connect more to modern music. There are many music artists who have impacted the world with their music. A.R.Rahman is one Indian artist whose music has touched hearts all over the world. My favourite artist is Ariana Grande.             Music is like yoga, it makes us happy and helps in keeping hormonal bal...

WHAT IS CULTURE?

What is Culture? Culture is what our ancestors believed in. It is what they created. They created it believing that people can have a better life if followed. Culture is what we chose to believe in. Culture reflects our history. It is what that defines us. Everyone is entitled to their own custom cultures. It can be said with an simple example. If a person lives in a house he/she lives according to his/her beliefs and tradition. You can't force yourself into my house and ask me to adopt your style and beliefs. The members of society not only approve them but also shape their behaviour accordingly. They are the members of the society because of the traditions and customs which are common and which are passed down from generation to generation through the process of socializing. These common patterns and behaviour of people creates the culture and it is in terms of culture that we are able to understand the specific behaviour pattern of people in their social relations. Cultur...

INDIAN CULTURE - IMPORTANCE

Individuals have personality, the same way societies have culture. Culture is something that is passed on from generation to generation. It is the identity of a person living in his own place. The word 'Culture' comprises of language, food, clothing, beliefs, rituals, behavior, customs, religion, architecture and everything. Culture also sees changes in mingling with people over the generation. The kind of diversity of religion and culture in India is rarely seen in any other country. When the British ruled India, they conditioned Indians into believing that Indians were the primitive beings and the British culture was the way forward. Western culture is considered 'cool' whereas Indian culture is 'old and traditional'. English is an international language, there is no doubt that anyone wants to be a great personality in this world needs to know english but that does not necessarily mean learning their native language is not equally important. So many co...

INDIA: THE TREASURE TROVE OF ARTS AND CULTURE

Having lived in Chennai(Tamil Nadu), a minor portion of the great Indian peninsula, for all my life, I have discovered that India, happens to be the only place in the whole world with an intricate amalgamation of people, languages, food and religion. India, is one of the top ranked countries for it's present and steadily growing population. It happens to be the richest place, in terms of the different cultures and arts that are and have been a major part of what defines this magnificent country. The different cultures of India, include ideas, customs we follow, arts, handicrafts, religions, food habits, fairs, festivals, music and dance, for the most part. Different cultures are followed in different parts of India, based on who the people in the respective regions are what their teachings have raised them to be. However, irrespective of the region, a particular art form or culture is respected all around the country. Each culture has its own art form and tradition which the peo...
