ANANTHAPURA TEMPLE

                                                    

Anathapura temple  which is located in kerela. It is one  of my favourite temple in kerela. It is the temple in kerela which is fully surrounded by water. The main diety in the temple is vishnu. There is a story which  is narrated by the chief priest to the tourist people who visit the temple for the first time. when I heard this story it was very interesting to me. " One day lord Narayana appeared before'the sage as a child. The boy's face was glowing with postive vibes and the sage was overwhelmed then he asked about him. The boy said that he lost his mother and father. the sage felt pitty on him and the sage allowed him to stay there. The boy proposed a condition that whenever

he feels humiliated he will leave the place at once. He served the sage for sometime. After some time he started doing pranks on the sage and the sage lost his temper and he violently behaved with a boy. Then the boy disappeared from there and if the sage wants to see the boy he would have to go to the ananthankat which is forest and the serpent called anantha. After sometime the sage realized that the boy is lord vishnu. Then the sage found the cave where the boy disappeared and he proceeded further into the cave in search of the boy. The sage saw the boy who soon disappeared into a huge illipa tree which is well known as indian butter tree. Immeadiately the tree fell down and assumed the shape of lord vishnu in all the leaves". The history says there is a crocodile which  protects the temple. It is seen by the priest other than him no one has seen the crocodile. It is 1000 years older. It is named as bhabya. It will be coming out only at the night time and it will be sleepling near the foot of lord vishnu and it is a vegetarian crocodile and it will not harm anyone. This temple is very famous in kerala and a well known place in kerala.
